Teaser Tuesday – Back to Venice!

Hello, Carnevale fans! It’s your turn this week!

It’s been a little while since we were able to travel to Venice (quarantine and airport bans are an issue!), but finally this week we’re getting back to Carnevale.

And to that end, we have two brand new boxed sets, with just a bunch of brand new characters! To launch us back off with Carnevale releases, the Doctors and the Vatican are riding up with new minis.

The Doctors have a brand new box named Esoteric Investigations, and it’s a name that certainly fits!

The set contains two new Hero classes, as well as three Henchmen.

We’ve seen the Doctor of the Firmament artwork in a previous WIP Wednesday and here he is in the flesh (resin). He’s pretty oblivious to silly things like the physical world, engrossed as he is in his studies of otherworldly phenomena.

The Doctor of Poisons is… well she’s good at poisoning.

The Apprentice Doctor is a new and frankly quite experimental Henchman class. She’s not fully trained, but can change depending on what Doctor she is learning from.

Finally we have the Hollowmen. These are the answer to “what happens when a Madman is completely drained of magic?” Well the Doctors have found a use, and it ends… badly.

The Vatican are getting some heavy reinforcements in the Insurgency Force boxed set.

This box also has a couple of great Hero choices and some Henchmen too!

The two French Guard are fairly unreliable (they really don’t want to be there), but bring a lot of martial force for a low Ducat cost.

We’ve got a second sculpt of the Avignon Guard in here too, looking suitably knightly and – let’s face it – very awesome. That’s an intimidating looking guy! Heavy armour and big sword shows he means business.

Finally a brand new character, the Scorpio Marksman. This guy has heavy armour and a massive crossbow. How massive? Well he needs an Altar Boy to carry the bolts and also help him aim! we actually saw this pair back in the Advent Calendar, and pretty soon he’ll be hitting the tabletop!

We’ve also got an extra blister pack on the way, which we’ll have a look at on Friday when all of these great new miniatures are released! Throughout the week we’ll be looking more at the sculpts and some new rules for these new character classes.

Until then, you can head over to the TTCombat webstore to check out the full Carnevale range!
