Partying in the French Quarter!

We would say that you could escape the UK’s ever-rising heat wave with a visit to the French Quarter but it’s just as hot there.

Welcome to this week’s Teaser Tuesday where we’ll be staying in the French Quarter and enjoying southern hospitality for a little longer. Besides the hankering for Gumbo and Jazz Music, people come to the French Quarter to meet spirits from the other side. The most famous has to be the Axeman of the French Quarter who plagued the streets during the 1910s and walked down Thibeau Avenue.

French Quarter – Thibeau Avenue

Birds sing in the trees as the residents wake to the early morning sun, well they do so long as the Axeman hasn’t visited during the night. Thibeau Avenue used to be a quaint and quiet street built up of smaller residential buildings until Jazz music boomed to keep the spirits away.  If you do manage to make it through to another day, make sure you visit the local shop whilst you can.

French Quarter – Rue Lapierre

If you’re looking for something, anything or everything… you can find it down Rue Lapierre! Shrunken heads? No problem but make sure you don’t tell too many people how you came about them. Rue Lapierre may look idyllic but you’d be crazed not to take caution when venturing to the large shop or townhouse with its overlooking balcony.
