Black Friday is nearly upon us so we’ve been working in overdrive to bring you a unique miniature as this year’s exclusive.

Welcome to this week’s WIP Wednesday and today we’ve got a new miniature to reveal. We always try to offer something a bit different each year as Becky Black Friday and Black Plague Friday. Now hear us out, dietary restrictions plague millions of people and these people need a CHAMPION to lead the fight against things such as gluten.

GLUTENUS MINIMUS

Its unclear who this gluten slaying champion was before he entered the Colosseum and donned a Cassis Crista, but once he did… the bread began to fall. Slayer of scones, loaves and rolls this Gladiator is the undefeated champion of the arena. The inspiration for this miniature came from a fellow Cornish business called Goodh Brew. This independent small brewery make a Gluten Free Pale Ale of the same name and were happy for us to turn this into a awesome sculpt.

We envisioned this miniature being used in fantasy or historical games and therefore scaled it to 28-32mm heroic. Our favourite part was the loaf of Bread beneath the Gladiators foot and the bread knife instead of gladius. Yet we wanted to make this a bit more gaming friendly so gamers will be happy to know that you can swap out the loaf of bread for a rock.

We’re excited to see how people build & paint this miniature when he’s released. The Gluten slayer will be back in time for Black Friday.
