Every person has a spirit animal but only a lucky few can bond with them…
A free agent who wanders from Casino to Casino seeking a true fight, the Chief has been wrestling for years. Bestowed with great gifts, the Chief has been able to manifest and utilize the abilities of his spirit animals; the mighty bear, the swift eagle, and the relentless coyote.

When a game has as many varied playable characters as RUMBLESLAM, some of them will inevitably be overlooked. After all, not everyone can have two gold plus 1 on all their stats!
Welcome back to A True Underdog Story, the series where we cover an
underappreciated wrestler and give them a moment under the spotlight to shine! So, which aging wrestler gets their moment this month? He’s dominant. He’s got an impressive headdress. And he’s more versatile than a Swiss army knife!
It’s THE CHIEF!
The Chief, the boss, the head honcho, the man in charge! At first glance, he seems overpriced at 300,000 Dosh for just two silver on all stats. But don’t be fooled by his perfectly average stat line! The Chief has a few tricks up his… erm… sleeves? Headdress? Loincloth?
Moving on!
His core stats are nothing to shout about. Eight health is standard for a weight two wrestler, and throw four is nice but hardly Superstar-worthy. Five action points and five movement points are above average for a weight two. So what is it that makes The Chief so special? Well, it’s his special moves that make him stand apart! Starting with his Alligator Press, three Action Points gives you, two silver dice for one damage, which is… erm… well, it’s not impressive is it? But you throw in -2AP and Knockdown, and things start looking up, but three Action Points is still on the pricey side. Stay with me here The Chief really is worth the investment. Up next, we have his Falling Bison turnbuckle ability. Three action points get you a range five, three damage base attack with one gold and one silver dice… erm… oh yeah, it also comes with Devastating and Impact, which is great for hitting multiple targets (and is super rare on non-weight three wrestlers).
I’m not making a good argument for The Chief here, am I? Alright! Let me regroup and get things back on track with his signature ability, Spirit Animal. When The Chief activates, he gets to choose one of three (yes, three!) options, making him the ultimate take-on-all-comers wrestler! With the spirit of the Coyote, The Chief’s attack becomes two silver plus two! Launching his average stat line into the heady heights more befitting a Superstar! But maybe you don’t need more punching power. Maybe you need to make sure his Alligator Press lands this round? Well take the Bear Spirit this round and gain a plus one to his grapple. While you’re at it, have a boost to your throw stat as well, becoming Throw five! Alright! Now we’re talking! What’s that? Grappling isn’t really your thing? Well, channel the spirit of the Eagle then and make The Chief’s Falling Bison range eight! Yeah, that’s right, range eight! That’s three-
quarters of the ring covered! Oh, he also gets a plus one to his Dex, just in case he somehow doesn’t have a target while standing on the turnbuckle!
Maybe things haven’t been going your way, and you’re split on which spirit to use next round. Well, for just one action point, you can go for The Chief’s Crowd Pleaser, which allows you to pick two different spirits to channel. Oh, what’s that? Falling Bison is suddenly two silver plus two, devastating, impact, three damage base, that covers three-quarters of the ring?! Or how about Alligator Press with two silver plus one, minus two AP and Knockdown with points left over for two zero defence brawl attacks with two silver plus two!? You should easily be averaging results of four plus on that! And that’s just The Chief on his own! He gets even filthier when you throw in sponsorships!
I’ll give you a moment to pick up your jaw from the floor…
And finally, there’s the cherry on top, The Chief is a free agent! So all you one-
casino-or-die-players can take him all day long and not lose that wonderful
sponsorship bonus! All for just 300,000 Dosh!?
Yes. Yes, I’ll field The Chief!
